The Step of Salvation

WHY DOES JESUS MATTER?

Every one of us struggles to find purpose, answers, and help in life. Some days we just want to keep our heads above water—take care of the kids, pay the bills, and make ends meet. We all want to feel we have what it takes.

But… we also have deeper questions: Why am I here? Is this all there is? Who am I? What happens when I die?

Jesus matters because He came to answer our deepest questions. He came to give us purpose for living now and settle the question of where we’ll spend eternity.

JESUS BRINGS MEANING TO OUR LIVES

God, the creator of the universe, has a plan for you and your life. He loves you and wants to help you because He made you— on purpose, with a purpose. He knows you need help. He knows you can’t do it on your own. That’s why He sent Jesus.

You don’t have to measure up to some impossible religious standard to know God—you can’t, only Jesus can. Jesus brings meaning and purpose to all the struggles you’re facing. You don’t have to be good enough, clean up your act, or follow some super-spiritual checklist.

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
-John 14:6, NLT

The Step of Baptism

WHAT IS IT?

Baptism is going public about your faith in Jesus and communicating to the world your heart-felt commitment to following Him. It’s the next step after salvation.

HOW CAN I BE BAPTIZED?

Sign up and join our next baptism class. In it, we discuss questions involving why people should be baptized, if they should be baptized more than once, whether or not it involves sprinkling or dunking, and others. Please contact our pastor, Ernie Madden, for more information, or fill out and submit the form at the bottom of this page.
“Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”
-Acts 2:38, NLT

The Step of Bible Reading

10 Minutes a Day

The Bible tells us the truth about who God is. If you want to know more about God and His promises, reading the Bible is your next step, and all you need is ten minutes a day.

You can spare that, right? Reading the Bible for just 10 minutes a day can change the rest of your days. It will bring you hope, encouragement, guidance, and practical advice on the everyday issues you’re facing. The Bible is relevant to everyone, everywhere, at any time.

You can’t have a close relationship with someone you never talk to. It’s impossible. Reading God’s word in the Bible is the primary way He speaks to us. And it’s the absolute best way to discover how to follow Jesus on a daily basis. If you want to know more about God and His promises, reading the Bible is your next step.

Free NLT Bible!

Where do you start? We recommend starting with the New Testament by reading the book of Matthew about a chapter a day. Most people find that this is a great way to start their day, by dedicating 10 minutes in the morning. We have a free New Living Translation Bible that is easy to understand, and we would love to give you. Contact our pastor, Ernie Madden, or fill out and submit the form at the bottom of this page if you would like to receive a free bible.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”
-2 Timothy 3:16–17, NLT

The Step of Small Groups

Build new Realtionships

One of the best ways for growing our relationship with Jesus is growing in our relationships with others – particularly with people who have the same goals. We encourage people to join one of our church’s small groups because it is an ideal place for building relationships and pursuing spiritual growth with other believers. We meet in groups of about 10 people. Some of our groups meet at the church and others meet in church family homes.

Get Connected

If you are not currently in one, we would love to get you connected. You can read more about our groups and what they are studying on the Small Groups page. You can also fill out the form at the bottom of this page and submit it if you are interested in participating in a group. Either our pastor or one of our small group leaders will contact you.

“For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
-Matthew 18:20, NLT

The Step of Giving

Financial

We believe everything we have comes from God in the first place. We give because we believe God has entrusted us to be leaders for hope in our church and our community.

If you want to give financially, checks can be made payable to Ashland Community Church and mailed to:

Ashland Community Church
PO Box 602
Ashland, NH 03217

We also have drop boxes by the main doors in the worship center.

Material

We happily accept material donations of various types: supplies for our Kids Zones, bottled water, cleaning supplies, coffee, audio and video equipment, etc. If you think you might have something we can use, simply ask!

“Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
-Luke 6:38, NLT

The Step of Serving

Donate Your Time

Each week at Ashland Community Church, people take time to serve. We encourage you to consider doing the same because, like them, when you serve you receive just as much as you give, if not more. There are a number of ways to serve, including the areas listed below. If you are interested in serving in one of these areas or want to serve in another way, please let us know by filling out and submitting the form below.

  • Toddler Zone (infants – 5 yrs old)

Immediate Needs

SPECIFIC NEED for musically inclined individuals – please come and share your talent with us!

Our worship band is especially looking for an electric guitar player, a keyboard player, and a bass guitar player for our Sunday morning services. We could utilize other instruments and voices as well. If you or someone you know is interested, please have them contact Aaron Stout, our worship pastor at 585.478.2443.

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”
-Romans 12:6–8, NLT
