Small Groups

Spiritual growth doesn’t happen
when we know what Jesus says,

It happens when we apply what he says.

To grow spiritually, you have to be connected relationally. That’s why we offer small group fellowships on several evenings throughout the week. We encourage everyone in our congregation to join a small group as it is the ideal place for building relationships and pursuing spiritual growth with other believers. We meet in groups of about 10 people. Some of our groups meet at the church and others meet in church family homes.

If you are not currently in one, we would love to get you connected. Just fill out the form at the bottom of this page and submit it if you are interested in participating in a group, and our pastor or a small group leader will contact you.

“For where two or three gather together as my followers,[a] I am there among them.”
-Matthew 18:20, NLT

Sundays

BIBLE WISDOM AND SONG STUDY

LEADER: Dave Allen

WHEN: Sundays 10:30 am – Noon

WHERE: Church dining room

SUBJECT: We serve a personal God who is loving and protective. We communicate what we’ve discovered about God through songs, as well as books and podcasts. The Bible is a book that is full of songs, which give us a language to express what is going on in life. In this discussion group, we’ll explore wisdom literature and song in the Bible to see how ancient people processed knowing God and living life. Together, we’ll expand our worship vocabulary to enrich our discipleship and witness.

Sundays

MERE CHRISTIANITY

LEADER: Scott Hatfield

WHEN: Sundays after church

WHERE: Alternating homes in Ashland, Bridgewater, and Rumney.

SUBJECT: Mere Christianity explores the core beliefs of Christianity by providing an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear a powerful, rational case for the Christian faith. A brilliant collection, Mere Christianity remains strikingly fresh for the modern reader and at the same time confirms C.S. Lewis’ reputation as one of the leading writers and thinkers of our age. Please reach out to Scott Hatfield to join.

Mondays

EVERY MAN A WARRIOR:
Helping Men Succeed In Life

LEADER: John Wallace

WHEN: Mondays 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

WHERE: ZOOM

SUBJECT: This group is beneficial for single men desiring marriage and family, married men with children, teens, or adult children, and grandfathers. These lessons have profoundly impacted the lives of men wanting to become better husbands, fathers, and grandfathers. This group will go for 18 weeks with one lesson every two weeks. There will be approximately one to two hours of preparation each. Like any life change, this requires some work! You can contact John at wallacejj@me.com.

Mondays

STARTING POINT: A CONVERSATION ABOUT FAITH

LEADER: Ernie Madden, pastor

WHEN: Mondays 6:30 pm – 8:15 pm
(6:15 ish for snacks, drinks, and fellowship)

WHERE: The Friendship Room at the church (Next to the Toddler Zone)

SUBJECT: You had a first day of school, a first date, a first kiss, a first job. But here’s something you may not have considered – faith has a starting point.

Starting Point is a conversational environment where you can explore faith and experience community. It’s a safe place for you to ask questions and to learn about the Bible and Christianity.

You may have questions that you’ve always wondered about but never felt you could ask at church, legitimate questions that would make many Christians uncomfortable. Ask them. Nothing is off-limits. We want to have conversations about the stuff that really matters to you, even when it’s difficult to talk about – especially when it’s difficult to talk about.

We believe that God loves you … specifically. And we believe He’s big enough to handle your toughest questions, darkest moments, and deepest doubts. We want to honor Him and you by creating an environment where you can be open, honest, and transparent.

This study is for:

  • SEEKERS: those who are curious about God, Jesus, the Bible, or Christianity.
  • STARTERS: Those who have just begun a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • RETRUNERS: Those who have had some church experience but have been away for a while.
  • ANYONE WHO IS NEW TO OUR CHURCH.

Please contact Ernie Madden if you would like to participate.
